Berlin startup n8n is going big. Founded in Berlin in 2019, the workflow automation and AI agent platform has reached a valuation of $2.5 billion — and just landed one of its most high-profile partnerships yet: a global rollout with Mercedes-Benz.
According to a press release from Mercedes-Benz, the Stuttgart automaker is deploying n8n as its central low-code platform to build and scale AI-powered workflows across the entire company — from R&D and production to HR, sales, and IT. The goal is to move AI out of isolated pilot projects and into everyday operations.
To kick things off, Mercedes-Benz ran a company-wide hackathon with more than 1,500 participants from all business units. The strongest ideas are now being turned into real workflows via the n8n platform.
Jan Oberhauser, Founder & CEO of n8n, sees this as a defining moment: "Most companies are still facing the question of how to move AI from pilot to production. What we are building together with Mercedes-Benz answers that question at a scale few can achieve — supported by an architecture that keeps data, control and flexibility in the hands of the Mercedes-Benz team."
A key factor in choosing n8n was its self-hosted, cloud-agnostic architecture, which allows Mercedes-Benz to retain control over sensitive data and processes. The partnership also signals a broader commitment to strengthening the European AI ecosystem.
For Berlin's startup scene, this deal is a major signal: homegrown tech is ready for the global stage.
