Berlin Launches Gateway for Indian Tech Companies

Berlin has a new bridge to one of the world's fastest-growing tech ecosystems. INDIA DESK Germany officially launched in the German capital, bringing together politicians, business leaders, and innovation networks to mark the start of a structured entry point for Indian companies looking to expand into Germany and Europe.
The initiative is driven by GIIC e.V. (German Indian Innovation Corridor) and NLND Berlin, with support from Berlin Partner, the city's official economic development agency. The launch event took place at NLND Neuland in Neukölln and featured speeches from Berlin's Mayor and Senator for Economic Affairs Franziska Giffey, India's Deputy Chief of Mission Abhishek Dubey, and a representative from Germany's Foreign Office.
INDIA DESK Germany offers Indian startups, scale-ups, and innovation-driven companies a clear three-tier pathway. The first level covers soft landing: co-working space, onboarding, and initial business development support. The second provides a structured one-month cohort program with access to corporate partners and pilot opportunities. The third opens doors to prototyping labs and makerspace facilities at NLND Berlin.
A panel discussion explored opportunities in Indo-German innovation collaboration, industrial transformation, and startup-corporate partnerships. Participants included Berlin Partner CEO Dr. Stefan Franzke and Dr. Silan Hun, Head of Startup Partnering at Siemens Mobility.
The platform is designed as a long-term bridge, not just a one-off launch. Going forward, INDIA DESK Germany will engage Indian companies, corporate partners, and institutional players interested in market entry, pilot development, and bilateral innovation projects. With India emerging as a key strategic partner for Germany, Berlin is positioning itself as the go-to gateway for the Indo-German business relationship.
