SAP Invests in Berlin's n8n at $5.2bn Valuation

Berlin-based workflow automation startup n8n has just landed a strategic investment from SAP, pushing its valuation to $5.2 billion. That is more than double what the company was worth less than a year ago.

According to n8n's press release, the partnership goes beyond capital. n8n will soon be embedded natively inside SAP's Joule Studio on the SAP Business AI Platform, giving SAP developers a visual way to build and orchestrate AI workflows across their entire tech stack. With over 1,000 integrations and a canvas that handles both rule-based and agentic logic, n8n brings serious flexibility to one of the world's largest enterprise ecosystems.

SAP is no small partner. Its customer base includes 99 of the world's 100 largest companies. For n8n, with 1.7 million monthly active builders and more than 1,400 enterprise customers, this is a significant step toward embedding its platform in mission-critical infrastructure.

What makes this particularly compelling for large organizations is the compliance angle. Because the n8n environment runs on SAP's cloud infrastructure, data stays within existing secure systems. GDPR compliance, data residency requirements, and full governance over every workflow are built in from the start.

The integration is set to reach general availability in Q3 2026, with early adopters getting a first look at the SAP Sapphire event in Orlando. Both companies are German, and as n8n CEO Jan Oberhauser noted in the press release, partnerships like this are exactly how Europe builds its own AI champions.
