Berlin-based PropTech company metr has closed its Series B funding round, pulling in around €10.5 million to keep growing its platform for energy-efficient buildings. According to the company's press release, the round brought in a new investor, SBG-Sächsische Beteiligungsgesellschaft, alongside returning backers including WIKA subsidiary Kachel GmbH, IBB Capital, BRAWO Capital, Next Big Thing AG, and several business angels.
The fresh capital comes after a strong year for metr. Revenue grew by more than 80 percent in 2025 compared with the previous year, and the company's net retention rate topped 140 percent. metr now works with more than 80 customers across residential real estate, asset management, and corporate real estate.
metr's platform uses AI to combine energy management and heating optimization in one system, connecting to existing heating setups so building owners can cut energy use and improve efficiency ratings without expensive renovations. With energy costs rising and regulations tightening, that pitch is landing well with owners looking to protect the long-term value of their buildings.
With the new funding, metr plans to build a hub in Saxony to streamline its supply chains and get closer to customers, while also laying the groundwork for international expansion. Co-founder and CEO Franka Birke said the round sets metr up to scale further and sharpen its operational excellence. WIKA board member Alexander Wiegand called the continued backing a sign of long-term partnership, pointing to metr's technology and its role in shaping the market for building digitalization.
