Berlin's VION AI Joins Trifork to Transform Aviation

Berlin-based AI startup VION AI has been acquired by Trifork, a move that could change how airlines manage their ground operations. According to a press release from Trifork, the deal strengthens the tech company's aviation division and expands its ability to deliver real-time, data-driven solutions to airlines and airports worldwide.
VION AI has built an all-in-one platform that uses AI and computer vision to make aircraft turnaround processes visible in real time. Think deboarding, cleaning, boarding, carry-on baggage management, and passenger counting, all tracked and analyzed as they happen. That kind of frontline visibility has traditionally been out of reach for most operators.
Integrated with Trifork's iFly4 App Suite, the combined solution gives airlines a level of operational detail that was previously inaccessible. The goal: fewer delays, lower costs, and a better passenger experience.
Michael Busch, CEO of VION AI, says the two companies have shared a vision from the start: making frontline operations visible and actionable in real time. Trifork CEO Jørn Larsen describes the acquisition as "a strong cultural and strategic fit," pointing to VION AI's smart approach to AI training and its deep aviation expertise.
Core product integration is expected to wrap up within about six weeks, meaning airlines could see real benefits fairly quickly. The acquisition is not expected to have a material impact on Trifork Group's financials in 2026.
For Berlin's tech scene, this is another sign that the city is producing startups tackling serious industry challenges with sophisticated, scalable technology.
